It is sometimes hard to remember that not everybody is as fortunate. Some people fight everyday to just be able to live in the United States and they work tirelessly to make a life for themselves. Ramon, the subject of this project, has spent three years struggling to get a visa. He lives in a minuscule flat, with his wife, in the barn at which he works. Half painted walls surround him and piles of trash and horses are his neighbors. As an immigrant myself from the UK, I made this project to document and humanize immigrants, as in this political climate, they are treated as scapegoats and cast aside. I am lucky to be close to Ramon in order to achieve an inside view on a topic that many people feel like outsiders to.
